Painting for me is an expression, a dream, a theory, a color, frustration, pleasure, pain, a dream, a dance, a song, sadness, happiness, life, death, an experience never ending. For me, it is to create a well balanced image with color, theory, and line. I thrive to create an emotion in the viewer by using society, their ideas, and their beliefs about everything around us. If I make the viewer think and think again - I've done my job. I don't want the viewer to walk away emotionless and without a thought. My subjects have serious meanings to them, which in most cases, people don't take the time to think about in their normal daily life. I want the viewer to see the meaning behind the painting, think about what their seeing, and not just notice a pretty picture, for a good portion of life is not a pretty picture, and generally is what we make it. I enjoy painting what life is in society, and I like to bring out issues of which, in most cases, are disturbing to people and forces them to face and think about reality.
